Japan, India to sign agreement on defense secrets

TOKYO -- Japan and India plan to sign a bilateral agreement on defense secrets that would pave the way for arms transfers between the two countries, sources said on Wednesday.
     Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi will start talks on the agreement at a meeting on Dec. 12, according to the sources. The two leaders will also discuss a related treaty that will enable the export and joint development of defense technologies.
